Summer Food 2010 Update

9 Jul

Whoot!  The Meal Makeover Moms podcast is joining us in the Summer Foods 2010 Project and we are happy to have them! And the blogs of food lovers Jacky Hackett and the Upstart Kitchen have been the first to respond that they also will be joining in

Here’s some info on th eMeal Makeover Moms: ”Janice Newell Bissex and Liz Weiss are registered dietitians and The Meal Makeover Moms. As two of the nation’s top experts on family nutrition, they’re on a mission to help busy families eat better.

Their journey began in 2004 with the release of The Moms’ Guide to Meal Makeovers, Improving the Way Your Family Eats, One Meal at a Time. The book highlights their simple food philosophy that kids – even picky ones — will eat nutritious food without complaint as long as it looks and tastes great. To do that, The Moms give family-favorite recipes a healthy makeover by “weaving in” fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy oils and more. Their recipes are easy to make, appeal to kids, and make mealtime less stressful for parents who want their families to eat more than the chicken nuggets and mac & cheese that often end up on the table.”

Looking forward to hearing their take on ‘Summer Food’!

‘Summer food’ is a great topic because it is broad enough that everyone can do their own thing, but still have a unifying theme-

Thanks for your enthusiasm! We think it will workout great if everyone does their posts in the last week of July – we can have a simple list of participating shows/blogs with links that each site can ‘copy and paste’ on the bottom of the show, so we can keep the chain of ‘summer food’ themes going! And please tell your foodie lovin’ blogger friends if they want in!
